It is what it is, though.
The Sasser Family Update.
Well, I guess quite of bit has happened since I last wrote. Isaiah and I took a trip to MN to meet his uncles and their families and to also meet his other great grandma and grandpa. He and I had a great time with family and also doing some sight-seeing. We got to experience 12,000 baby turkies, the mall of america, a zoo, MN weather, cousins, trampolines, kiddie pools, and more. We didn't get a whole lot of sleep during out trip, but we had a great time.
I have been in beauty school for a month and I am really enjoying my time there. I know how to do perms, haircuts, and soon color. In 3 more weeks, I will be out on the main floor performing my new talents on customers. Any brave souls? haha!
Isaiah and Dad are busy at home learning new words, dances, games, and so much more. I am a bit jealous, but their relationship is pretty cool. Isaiah loves his dad so much.
We are waiting to see what God has for us. Please by praying for open doors.

Here are a few pics from MN:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SMdYYHKAUbI/AAAAAAAAAH8/U7XE8HJR8nE/s320/MN+Trip+046.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5244257462357348786" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SMdYYezJeJI/AAAAAAAAAIE/DyLPPI0d4hg/s320/MN+Trip+023.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5244257468703930514" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SMdYY2X4hrI/AAAAAAAAAIM/sks_xHsYtGQ/s320/MN+Trip+033.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5244257475032024754" />

Where in the world...

A lot can finish the title of this blog...The one I am writing about: does time go?

I can't believe that we are getting ready to enter into the month of August. Isaiah and I are heading up to Minnesota the first week of August to see and meet family. We are planning on staying there a week. Should be a fun time. Isaiah will be meeting some new faces, which is always fun.
I am also going to be starting school August 12, when I get back from MN. I am nervous, excited, scared, etc. I am going to be attending the Oregon Institute of Cosmetology to become a world-known hairstylist! hahaha! I can dream, right? This has been something I have always wanted to do, but never thought to pursue it. Joseph has encouraged me to go for it, so that is what I plan to do.

We were able to make a few trips during the summer. We spent a weekend in Portland, which is always fun for us. We spent a day at the coast and a day hanging around downtown Portland. Joseph and I went on a hike, which we have been wanting to do for a long time. We were hoping to climb a mountain this summer, but we will shoot for early fall or next summer.

I think that pretty much sums up the summer activities...There's always the gardening, playing in parks, walking, barbecues and other typical summer fun.

Here's some pics:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SItnC1GyPJI/AAAAAAAAAHc/j6qyAyG9XEU/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227385090806529170" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SItnDaaZZGI/AAAAAAAAAHk/rodqAgcI7rs/s320/019.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227385100820898914" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SItnD9HY6LI/AAAAAAAAAHs/v7511ptlZFg/s320/028.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227385110136416434" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SItnEG8Er_I/AAAAAAAAAH0/SdZGYXrvwoA/s320/039.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227385112773308402" />

The JOYS of teeth

I think there is a reason why we don't remember some of our childhood experiences...Isaiah 1 year molars are pushing through and it is quite the painful experience. Three of them are all the way out and there is one that is still coming through, which is causing some major discomfort. I heard that if adults were to experience teeth pushing through, it would be one of the worst experiences ever...Not sure if that is true, but it does look quite painful. Other then that, Isaiah is doing well. He is walking all over and having so much fun exploring. I think he is also learing some cool dancing moves, too.
We are enjoying some of vegggies from the garden, snow peas!!! it's just so much more fun eating your own produce.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SGT_f2F7YRI/AAAAAAAAAHM/zSsiN8ToOJA/s320/073.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216575190963282194" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SGT_gM3wNLI/AAAAAAAAAHU/zJ2FgooBtkE/s320/107.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216575197077845170" />

it's about time

Summer, I think, is finally here. The last couple of weeks have been usually cold and I am just tired of it! :) This week is suppose to be more like summer and I am HAPPY. We have lots to do this summer and it helps when the weather is warmer. We are hoping to swim, hike, play frisbee, etc.
This past weekend, we helped make a float for the Gold Dust Days in Gold Hill, Oregon. Joseph did most of the work and he did a fantastic job. We did a float advertising VBS and the theme was surfing through the scriptures...SO, we created a palm tree, surf shack and had tons of kids dressed for the beach...One problem...It was FREEZING on Saturday. We all sucked it up and enjoyed the parade and had a great time.
Isaiah was able to participate in his first parade, which was fun to watch. Speaking of Isaiah...He is quite the walker and talker. There are a few words that we can make out..Daddy, doggy, beep, Uh Oh! Very exciting. He is quite the social bug, too. It's a lot of fun watching grow into such a sweet little boy.
Our garden is doing great. We have some baby tomatoes coming, peppers, beans, and potatoes. Yum Yum!

Well, here are some pictures of our little boy...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SE18hHT3u6I/AAAAAAAAAG0/mnSP0iAOy9k/s320/065.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209957252277451682" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SE18h5sgM0I/AAAAAAAAAG8/mfCq-9gzvEU/s320/007.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209957265802539842" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SE18iQXsM0I/AAAAAAAAAHE/kl64x02qTIQ/s320/055.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209957271889261378" />

Evening quiet time

I am sitting here on my couch after a busy day enjoying the peacefulness, thinking of what May held for our family...

Joseph threw me an amazing 30th birthday. He made lots of yummy finger foods and hot sandwiches! I attempted two cakes, but one came out really good. We had lots of friends come by and join in on the festivities and it was a really great time. I still can't believe I am 30. I use to think that anyone 30 or older was just old...I guess I was around 10 years of age when I thought that. It's really not that bad. I am actually enjoying being 30. There's a certain amount of coolness about it. hahaha!
Isaiah is now cruising all over the place. Crawling??? What's that? Keeps me on my toes, but it's so much fun watching him explore.
We are looking forward to what summer brings...Trip to the beach, trip to MN, camping, swimming, etc. I think it will be a good summer.
Joseph and I are loving being parents. Joseph and Isaiah have a very sweet relationship. I love watching them interact. I think it's one of my favorite things to do. Isaiah loves his dad!
I will be posting some new pictures soon.
Until that time,
Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite...

Loss for words...Yeah right...just laziness

I can think of many excuses why I haven't written a blog, but it comes down to plain laziness and actually lack of pictures to post.
Oh my...Lots has happened since the last post...
A) Isaiah is 1 YEAR OLD!!! I still can't believe how fast he is growing. We had lots of balloons, yummy cake, and presents. Both set of grandparents were able to be there to help celebrate. I think that was fun for Isaiah!
B) I ran my race and I did a lot better then I thought I did. It was a perfect day and it was actually some fun. I am hoping to make this a tradition. We'll see.
C) Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there.
D) I am afraid I am getting older...It's going to be the big 30 in a couple of weeks...wait...next week! OH MY! I am actually looking forward to the 30's. I don't know why...maybe just excited for a new set of numbers.
E) We are doing a garden, again, this year. I actually have been helpful with this garden. I am pretty excited about all the produce we are going to get. YUMMY!!!

The list might go on, but that's as far as my memory takes me for right now.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/SChT3B0lhgI/AAAAAAAAAGs/sZPBkW-Mc3E/s320/Rotation+of+P1010352.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199497974646146562" />

SPRING is in the air!

Oh what a beautiful morning...
Oh what a beautiful day...
I got a wonderful feeling,
Everything's going my way!

There's a little song for you today.

I am really excited that Spring is here and that means warmer weather. I went for my last run before the big race on Saturday and it was absolutely beautiful outside. The race day is suppose to be nice, as well.
Joseph and I celebrated 3 years of marriage yesterday! We were going to have a full day of fun events, but it took a turn for the bad when Isaiah developed a rather large rash all over his tummy and back. We took him to the doctor and found out he just has a viral thing and it will soon be over...We hope! We did, in the end, get to go out for a nice dinner while Grandma Sasser took care of our little man.

Little Isaiah is going to be turning 1 in a few weeks, which we are all excited about. I can't believe how fast time flies. I remember when he was first born, people told me that he will grow up so fast...They were RIGHT! He and I took a trip out to Colorado to visit Grandma and Grandpa Reimer. He had a BLAST with them. Grandpa and Isaiah played every chance they got and Grandpa even showed Isaiah some "neat" tricks at the table while eating! hahaha! Thanks, Grandpa! :) Grandma and Isaiah spent some quality time cuddled while napping, changing those stinky diapers and spending time together in the kitchen discovering tupperware!!! We really had a great time in CO. A friend of mine was able to make the trip with us, which was really great.
Now, we are home and getting ready for the next set of adventures.
Joseph is busy getting a garden full of yummy veggies and herbs ready for eatin'. He is also done traveling internationally for awhile, so it will be nice to have him around more.
I am training for a 10 mile race coming up Aril 12.

That's the nutshell...

Spring/Summer is around the corner and we are hoping to get some camping, hiking, and lots of playing in.

Until the next time...

That face!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/R7XRJb8XI2I/AAAAAAAAAGc/TK590DEFYAc/s320/P1010040.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167266107527471970" />
So much to say, so little words to write it down...Isaiah is growing like weeds and it's SO much fun. He has such a great personality and it's really great watching him interact with other kids and people in general. I went to the YMCA the other day and left him in the day care. When I came back to pick him up, he was interacting with another little boy there. What in the world was he saying??? The other little boy understood and the two of them carried on some kind of conversation. He can be very social, but he can be very shy, too.
Isaiah and I are taking a trip together to CO to visit grandma and grandpa. This will be his very first airplane ride, which will be interesting.
I will be posting more pics of the family soon!

Sick of being sick

What a week this has been. Imagine a house full of sick people/baby coughing, sneezing, running noses, tissues EVERYwhere, and comfort food. That is what our house looked like this past week...and a half. Last weekend, we spent it inside on the couch or bed sick. It happened to be absolutely beautiful outside, which we couldn't take advantage of...We are all doing much better, but still dealing with the leftover coughs and snot...Not to mention that this weekend is rainy/snowy outside and a perfect weekend for being inside, sick. I thought I would be a lot better at posting on this blogsite, but I have failed misserably. Is it my new year's resolution to write on this more often? I doubt it. I do hope to write in it more often then 5 times a year. We will see.
So, onto more important things...FAMILY!

Joseph has been to the far ends of the world and back since I last wrote. (Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Hong Kong).
Isaiah is into EVERYTHING that he really shouldn't be in. He is crawling and pulling himself up...Showing off his two front teeth for Christmas was one of his favorite things to do, besides learning to "unwrap" Christmas presents.

It was great to have my parent's in Medford for a bit. They had a super fun time getting to know Isaiah, again. I am sure when they see him, again, he will be running for hugs. My dad and Isaiah are planning a wagon ride for sometime in the spring.

As for me...Well, I keep on learning the ropes of being a mom and a wife. It will be interesting to see what this new year has...

I hope that everyone had a peaceful and warm Christmas and, of course, a HAPPY New Year.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/R31ckyrKtFI/AAAAAAAAAF0/KApd7FCQpYI/s320/IMGP2520.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151375335929590866" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/R31clyrKtGI/AAAAAAAAAF8/lnyc9u0JA_c/s320/P1010039.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151375353109460066" />

We're still here!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/R0-DS2cybkI/AAAAAAAAAFs/ATCSQHv35SU/s320/2007-10-29+101.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5138470059730169410" />
So, what's new with the Sasser family you might ask?? Well, it's all about the teeth right now. Isaiah has 3 visible teeth and one of the way, which is very exciting for us...But, a little painful for him. Thank goodness for frozen chew toys and other teething toys. It's SO cute to see his little teeth when Isaiah gives that priceless smile. What a goof! Along with Isaiah teething...So, is my dear husband. Joseph is getting, yet another, wisdom tooth. He had all 4 of them removed, but one more is surfacing! So, I have TWO boys teething! hahaha!
Isaiah is now 7 months old and climbing up chairs, couches, anything that he can get a good handle on. Lots to explore and it's so much fun watching him.

I will do my best to stay on top of this blogsite better. I guess I just got busy trying to keep up with Isaiah. One minute, he will be in the middle of the living room playing with his toys and then he will be across the room discovering new and exciting things. He is all about the army crawl right now, which is incredibly cute. He is also enjoying the wonderful flavors of VEGGIES!!! Yum.
We are also enjoying the new weather with all the bright colors that this time of year brings. We love taking walks together through the fallen leaves. Isaiah takes a snooze while I get some exercise and fresh air. I love this time of year! Joseph is busy with work and home projects, which we are very excited about. It will add some much needed color on our walls.
Here are some pics of our growing Isaiah!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RzNiSAvV3DI/AAAAAAAAAFU/28DSRLdx9Pc/s320/IMGP2382.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130552462080859186" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RzNiSwvV3EI/AAAAAAAAAFc/Y4RxH_HBNb8/s320/IMGP2497.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130552474965761090" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RzNiTQvV3FI/AAAAAAAAAFk/ab9LLNR-ErA/s320/IMGP2499.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130552483555695698" />

Swallowed by a couch!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RxLlHTKcI3I/AAAAAAAAAFM/DclKzDjAeX8/s320/IMGP2374.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5121407639839581042" />
Isaiah is beginning to "crawl" and it's so much fun watching him move around on the floor. It's not exactly crawling on his hands and knees, it's more like scootching around on his tummy. He is able to rock back and forth on his hands and knees, but just doesn't go anywhere. Soon enough he will be crawling for real. I really can't believe how fast he is growing up. People told me all the time that time flies by and before I know it he will be walking, etc... I just didn't really believe them... For all of you out there that told me that, it's SO true. Isaiah loves being around people and loves to be apart of conversations, even when he is the only one talking. It's fun to listen to him "tell" stories and to watch his facial expressions. Last night, Isaiah and I went to a party and he stole the show. He held his own while I stood in the background to watch my son hang out with a bunch of adults. With all this said, he still has a shy side when he first meets a person, but it doesn't take long for him to warm up to you.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RvZ-gjKcI0I/AAAAAAAAAE8/T-xrY4reKdM/s320/IMGP2202.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5113413524585718594" />

Mmm, rice cereal

At Isaiah's last doctor's appointment, we were told that he could start eating rice cereal. A couple of weeks ago, they put on a kid's day for the whole community and it turned out to be such a great day. EVERYTHING was free for the kids, which included lots of games to play, food, prizes, and more. The great thing was that most of our church got involved to make this day happen and it was cool to be apart of that. Joseph and I were in charge of the fishing booth... Remember the fishing booth from some kind of festival?? Oh yes! We were the booth with easy prizes, so we were quite busy with lots of little fishermen. I think that was one of my favorite booths as a kid when we went to any festival. Isaiah enjoyed hanging out and watching. Maybe next year, he can participate in some of the events? Face painting perhaps? Here are some pictures of that day....
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RtTJy6nbJtI/AAAAAAAAAEE/EDHxoxWsi9E/s320/IMGP2173.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5103926154282870482" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RtTJzanbJuI/AAAAAAAAAEM/LzkNC34PIow/s320/IMGP2174.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5103926162872805090" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RtTJz6nbJvI/AAAAAAAAAEU/brOBXwn41mA/s320/IMGP2175.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5103926171462739698" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RtTJ0anbJwI/AAAAAAAAAEc/E-x_EKFpBOE/s320/IMGP2177.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5103926180052674306" />

Growing boy!

Isaiah is 4 months and such a sweet little boy. Isaiah went on his first road trip around the great state of Oregon. This was mainly to introduce him to friends and family that live in Oregon, but also to get away for a bit. We had a great time as a family seeing lots of new places and faces.
We started on Sunday morning and headed to our first destination, Central Oregon. We stayed a couple of days there with Isaiah's Grandma and Grandpa Sasser. It was beautiful. First time for me, Heidi, and I loved it! The mountains were grand. We visited a place called Smith Rock. We all enjoyed the hike around the rocks. I was also able to catch up a bit with my cousin, Natalie and her little boy. Very fun for Isaiah to meet new family members!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/Rq5vcQDGsqI/AAAAAAAAACk/38pdbK8mDks/s320/IMGP2100.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093130759737619106" />
Our next stop was Eugene/Springfield to see Isaiah's great grandparents.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/Rq5vdwDGssI/AAAAAAAAAC0/n7xSJTlaMwo/s320/IMGP2117.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093130785507422914" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/Rq5veQDGstI/AAAAAAAAAC8/1oBSdrFeHxc/s320/IMGP2118.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093130794097357522" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/Rq5vfwDGsuI/AAAAAAAAADE/RB4SV9O_9m0/s320/IMGP2131.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093130819867161314" />

After our time there, we headed to Albany to see Joseph's good friend and wife, who is expecting a little girl. We are very excited to meet her in the fall.

Next stop... The OCEAN!!!! My personal favorite! I absolutely love the ocean and everything that it involves... Salt, water, sand, smells, sounds, and on and on. This was Isaiah's first time and it was SO much fun watching him take it in. He put his toes in the sand and FREEZING cold Oregon water. The weather was perfect. Sunshine and a slight breeze. I was pretty amazed to see quite a few people swimming.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/Rq5xVgDGsvI/AAAAAAAAADM/9nq9eshBBDo/s320/IMGP2135.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093132842796757746" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/Rq5xWgDGswI/AAAAAAAAADU/oRrpwJ-6egw/s320/IMGP2138.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093132859976626946" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/Rq5xXADGsxI/AAAAAAAAADc/WZRRBUYBCM4/s320/IMGP2140.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093132868566561554" />
That day had to end, but it ended on a good note when we drove to Portland to be with more family. Isaiah met his other great grandma and spent time with family. We also got to meet up with a dear friend of mine from Colorado for lunch. To start things out, there was a beautiful sunset with all the bright pinks and oranges and yellows. The clouds were rolling in and lightening was off in the distance. About 10ish, the thunder was getting louder and the lightening was getting closer. Our electricity went out and it was quite dark in our home. Memories?? Oh yes! I have so many memories of sitting in the dark trying to find flashlights or candles down in Ecuador. Lights going out there was a lot more frequent that it is here... AND, it stayed out for long periods of time. I remember going down to my room in the basement in the dark with a small candle hoping that no one would jump out at me...aka, my brothers! haha! Our lights went out here in Medford for 15 minutes or so. We sat on the bed and watched the cool sky with it lightening up all around us. What an amazing sight! Sweet little Isaiah slept through the whole thing! One of these days, Isaiah will be able to enjoy God's cool creation to the fullest!

New things

What fun it is to watch someone see something for the first time and see their reaction. Last night, I got to watch Isaiah's eyes watch all the fireworks. His eyes were big and focused on all the different lights and explosions. He was busy sucking on his fists while being entertained. I absolutely love watching him discover new things daily. I think one of this favorite things right now is his little toy lion that dangles from his play gym. He can stare at that thing for long periods of time. If you pull on his tail, it will make music, so he is figuring out how that works, too. He was able to pull it a couple of days ago, which was SUPER exciting for me, mom. What a BIG world to explore with him. It's going to be a fun ride!!!!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July.

OUCH!

Today, our sweet little boy had to get his first set of shots. Not a fun day for us. He had to get two in each thigh and one orally. He was quite the trooper... Shed a few tears during the process, but managed to smile for us when we left the clinic. I am hoping he doesn't have a bad reaction to them. His little thighs are sore and he lets us know that, but doing a lot better then I would have done if I had to get 4 shots. Other then that, he has gained 4 pounds and grew 4 inches. All is looking good for Isaiah and we are so thankful!
I saw this pic of him and wanted to share it with you... Isaiah continues to grow and is becoming more and more aware of his surroundings. He is smiling more and loves to be tickled by Dad. He might be picking up some cheekiness from somewhere in the family..hahaha! He already has such a great personality and it will be cool to see it develop further. He slept more then 5 hours last night, which was so great. I am not really counting on that happening every night, but we will take those nights when they come and enjoy the sleep.
My friend, Alicia, came for a visit from Colorado last two weeks ago and had a great time with her. It's always fun to have familiar faces here!

Well, enough chit chat... I have lots to learn about being a parent and I am loving it. It's not peachy all the time, but it's such a great adventure.
Our little Isaiah is sure growing fast. He is already a little more then a month old. It's so much fun watching him make his different facial expressions. He is getting a lot better with holding his head up and loves looking around and at the right moment you might just catch his sweet little smile.

Isaiah

<img style="display:block; A bond that only a parent and a child can feel. But, that moment was all in a dream I had the other night. I woke up feeling desperate for time, for another month maybe? How are we going to raise this child? Are we going to love him no matter what? Are we going to do everything possible to keep him safe and secure? All of these questions feel my mind as the date approaches. You know what? We can't do this on our own. We can do it with God's help. He has promised that we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength. Phew! What a relief.

Now, the question is... Who will get here first? I had another doctor's appoinment last Thursday and I am 1 cm dilated and 20% effaced, which means, it's getting closer. After 4-5 days of that appointment, the baby could come any day, he said. Mom and Dad Reimer are expected to be here Friday afternoon. The Race is on!!!!

2 years ago...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RhqDIUyvlQI/AAAAAAAAAAc/UtVcQF1VyMI/s320/IMG_0466.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051494111093167362" />
I stood in front of my best friend declaring that I would love and commit to him for the rest of my life. I have grown so close to him. He has shared my joys, sadness, downs and ups and has stuck by me no matter what the weather was like. Wow, where does time zip to? I think this might be quite an eventful month for the Sasser family. I think most of our readers know that this is the month of a very special arrival, if all goes according to plan. If you don't know, it's the arrival of my PARENTS!!! They will be coming to Medford, OR on April 20. It will be so nice to have them around and show them all the great places of Medford and the surrounding areas. This is also the month of another VERY special arrival... Our little BOY!!! YAHOO!!! It has been quite the wait and it is still quite the wait. We are both getting excited to meet this little boy and be able to see what has been forming inside of me for 9 months. I am meeting with the doctor every week now until he comes. I have a doctor who is great at what he does, because he has been doing this thing for more than 30 years. It's nice to know that we are in good hands.

Some thoughts

Thought A:
The time is approaching for baby Sasser to come. Lots of emotions are flooding my brain as I am trying to prepare for a baby. It's a lot harder that I thought it would be. It sometimes is scary to me to think about the responsibility of raising a child, but it's also exciting to have this chance. I have been reading a lot of books on how to raise a child... A lot to take in, but people keep telling me that it will come naturally. It's interesting to me that having a child and raising a child comes naturally. I guess I will know in just a few weeks.
Thought B:
Hiccups. I think baby Sasser has the hiccups at least twice a day. It's quite interesting to feel them...Sometimes they are strong enough for Joseph to feel them. We both do our best of trying to relieve those silly hiccups... scaring the baby (I wonder if that really works??), patting my stomach to see if that will help... I guess it's just one of those things that's part of the development.
Thought C:
I had a surprise baby shower last weekend and it was such a great time. Some new friends of mine went in together to put this party together. I think I have over 1000 diapers in the closet! (I hope that will cover a lot of the first year?). I also brought home a diaper cake! YUM! It was actually a brilliant idea. It looks beautiful and I plan to keep it for awhile... It won't ever really go bad.

Gardening

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RgGn8nThlNI/AAAAAAAAAAU/-nPX2VrB7-w/s320/IMGP1896.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5044497717416531154" />
One thing I like about Oregon is how easy it is to plant a garden. Well, I guess I don't know how easy it is, because Joseph did all the hard work of planting. It was fun watching and contributing to watering the planted seeds. I am excited to see what grows out of all the seeds he planted. There will hopefully be some beets, okra, fennel, and some more yummy produce that I can't remember. The reason I like planting in Oregon is because of the rain that comes, rich soil and the fact that we have a place to plant the seeds. I can't wait to try our first "crop" in the early summer.

Ahhhh...Spring!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_eYzIss9cpf4/RftXGPR8yVI/AAAAAAAAAAM/T07sdQ6a08Q/s320/IMGP1898.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5042719972464052562" />
I don't know about you guys, but I love the smell of fresh spring flowers, cut grass and rain. There is a lot of new things happening and it fits so perfectly with this season. I am excited about meeting our little boy in about 5 weeks, which is something VERY new for both Joseph and I. I had another good appointment with my doctor yesterday and so far everything is looking good. It's always fun for me to hear the heart beat. I have probably heard it a dozen times, but it nevers gets old for me. I wonder if I will try to listen to his heart beat when he is born? The doctor told me that I am in the "cute" stage of pregnancy. I don't know if I would use the word "cute". I would rather use uncomfortable... swollen... acid reflux... I might even use the word "FUN" sometimes.
