Update

I know it's a pretty boring title after not writing for a few months. It is what it is, though.
The Sasser Family Update.
Well, I guess quite of bit has happened since I last wrote. Isaiah and I took a trip to MN to meet his uncles and their families and to also meet his other great grandma and grandpa. He and I had a great time with family and also doing some sight-seeing. We got to experience 12,000 baby turkies, the mall of america, a zoo, MN weather, cousins, trampolines, kiddie pools, and more. We didn't get a whole lot of sleep during out trip, but we had a great time.
I have been in beauty school for a month and I am really enjoying my time there. I know how to do perms, haircuts, and soon color. In 3 more weeks, I will be out on the main floor performing my new talents on customers. Any brave souls? haha!
Isaiah and Dad are busy at home learning new words, dances, games, and so much more. I am a bit jealous, but their relationship is pretty cool. Isaiah loves his dad so much.
We are waiting to see what God has for us. Please by praying for open doors.

Here are a few pics from MN:

Where in the world...

A lot can finish the title of this blog...The one I am writing about: does time go?

I can't believe that we are getting ready to enter into the month of August. Isaiah and I are heading up to Minnesota the first week of August to see and meet family. We are planning on staying there a week. Should be a fun time. Isaiah will be meeting some new faces, which is always fun.
I am also going to be starting school August 12, when I get back from MN. I am nervous, excited, scared, etc. I am going to be attending the Oregon Institute of Cosmetology to become a world-known hairstylist! hahaha! I can dream, right? This has been something I have always wanted to do, but never thought to pursue it. Joseph has encouraged me to go for it, so that is what I plan to do.

We were able to make a few trips during the summer. We spent a weekend in Portland, which is always fun for us. We spent a day at the coast and a day hanging around downtown Portland. Joseph and I went on a hike, which we have been wanting to do for a long time. We were hoping to climb a mountain this summer, but we will shoot for early fall or next summer.

I think that pretty much sums up the summer activities...There's always the gardening, playing in parks, walking, barbecues and other typical summer fun.

Here's some pics:

The JOYS of teeth

I think there is a reason why we don't remember some of our childhood experiences...Isaiah 1 year molars are pushing through and it is quite the painful experience. Three of them are all the way out and there is one that is still coming through, which is causing some major discomfort. I heard that if adults were to experience teeth pushing through, it would be one of the worst experiences ever...Not sure if that is true, but it does look quite painful. Other then that, Isaiah is doing well. He is walking all over and having so much fun exploring. I think he is also learing some cool dancing moves, too.
We are enjoying some of vegggies from the garden, snow peas!!! it's just so much more fun eating your own produce.

it's about time

Summer, I think, is finally here. The last couple of weeks have been usually cold and I am just tired of it! :) This week is suppose to be more like summer and I am HAPPY. We have lots to do this summer and it helps when the weather is warmer. We are hoping to swim, hike, play frisbee, etc.
This past weekend, we helped make a float for the Gold Dust Days in Gold Hill, Oregon. Joseph did most of the work and he did a fantastic job. We did a float advertising VBS and the theme was surfing through the scriptures...SO, we created a palm tree, surf shack and had tons of kids dressed for the beach...One problem...It was FREEZING on Saturday. We all sucked it up and enjoyed the parade and had a great time.
Isaiah was able to participate in his first parade, which was fun to watch. Speaking of Isaiah...He is quite the walker and talker. There are a few words that we can make out..Daddy, doggy, beep, Uh Oh! Very exciting. He is quite the social bug, too. It's a lot of fun watching grow into such a sweet little boy.
Our garden is doing great. We have some baby tomatoes coming, peppers, beans, and potatoes. Yum Yum!

Well, here are some pictures of our little boy...

Evening quiet time

I am sitting here on my couch after a busy day enjoying the peacefulness, thinking of what May held for our family...

Joseph threw me an amazing 30th birthday. He made lots of yummy finger foods and hot sandwiches! I attempted two cakes, but one came out really good. We had lots of friends come by and join in on the festivities and it was a really great time. I still can't believe I am 30. I use to think that anyone 30 or older was just old...I guess I was around 10 years of age when I thought that. It's really not that bad. I am actually enjoying being 30. There's a certain amount of coolness about it. hahaha!
Isaiah is now cruising all over the place. Crawling??? What's that? Keeps me on my toes, but it's so much fun watching him explore.
We are looking forward to what summer brings...Trip to the beach, trip to MN, camping, swimming, etc. I think it will be a good summer.
Joseph and I are loving being parents. Joseph and Isaiah have a very sweet relationship. I love watching them interact. I think it's one of my favorite things to do. Isaiah loves his dad!
I will be posting some new pictures soon.
Until that time,
Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite...

Loss for words...Yeah right...just laziness

I can think of many excuses why I haven't written a blog, but it comes down to plain laziness and actually lack of pictures to post.
Oh my...Lots has happened since the last post...
A) Isaiah is 1 YEAR OLD!!! I still can't believe how fast he is growing. We had lots of balloons, yummy cake, and presents. Both set of grandparents were able to be there to help celebrate. I think that was fun for Isaiah!
B) I ran my race and I did a lot better then I thought I did. It was a perfect day and it was actually some fun. I am hoping to make this a tradition. We'll see.
C) Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there.
D) I am afraid I am getting older...It's going to be the big 30 in a couple of weeks...wait...next week! OH MY! I am actually looking forward to the 30's. I don't know why...maybe just excited for a new set of numbers.
E) We are doing a garden, again, this year. I actually have been helpful with this garden. I am pretty excited about all the produce we are going to get. YUMMY!!!

The list might go on, but that's as far as my memory takes me for right now.

SPRING is in the air!

Oh what a beautiful morning...
Oh what a beautiful day...
I got a wonderful feeling,
Everything's going my way!

There's a little song for you today.

I am really excited that Spring is here and that means warmer weather. I went for my last run before the big race on Saturday and it was absolutely beautiful outside. The race day is suppose to be nice, as well.
Joseph and I celebrated 3 years of marriage yesterday! We were going to have a full day of fun events, but it took a turn for the bad when Isaiah developed a rather large rash all over his tummy and back. We took him to the doctor and found out he just has a viral thing and it will soon be over...We hope! We did, in the end, get to go out for a nice dinner while Grandma Sasser took care of our little man.

Little Isaiah is going to be turning 1 in a few weeks, which we are all excited about. I can't believe how fast he is growing up.

I will be posting some new pictures soon.

May your day be filled with lots of Spring freshness! :)

Life in Oregon

Well, again it's been awhile since I have sat down to write something about our family...Here goes a quick update for now and then I will get some pictures out there.
Let's start with Isaiah: He is going to be turning 1 April 22. I can't believe how fast time flies. I remember when he was first born, people told me that he will grow up so fast...They were RIGHT! He and I took a trip out to Colorado to visit Grandma and Grandpa Reimer. He had a BLAST with them. Grandpa and Isaiah played every chance they got and Grandpa even showed Isaiah some "neat" tricks at the table while eating! hahaha! Thanks, Grandpa! :) Grandma and Isaiah spent some quality time cuddled while napping, changing those stinky diapers and spending time together in the kitchen discovering tupperware!!! We really had a great time in CO. A friend of mine was able to make the trip with us, which was really great.
Now, we are home and getting ready for the next set of adventures.
Joseph is busy getting a garden full of yummy veggies and herbs ready for eatin'. He is also done traveling internationally for awhile, so it will be nice to have him around more.
I am training for a 10 mile race coming up Aril 12.

That's the nutshell...

Spring/Summer is around the corner and we are hoping to get some camping, hiking, and lots of playing in.

Until the next time...

That face!

So much to say, so little words to write it down...Isaiah is growing like weeds and it's SO much fun. He has such a great personality and it's really great watching him interact with other kids and people in general. I went to the YMCA the other day and left him in the day care. When I came back to pick him up, he was interacting with another little boy there. What in the world was he saying??? The other little boy understood and the two of them carried on some kind of conversation. He can be very social, but he can be very shy, too.
Isaiah and I are taking a trip together to CO to visit grandma and grandpa. This will be his very first airplane ride, which will be interesting.
I will be posting more pics of the family soon!

Sick of being sick

What a week this has been. Imagine a house full of sick people/baby coughing, sneezing, running noses, tissues EVERYwhere, and comfort food. That is what our house looked like this past week...and a half. Last weekend, we spent it inside on the couch or bed sick. It happened to be absolutely beautiful outside, which we couldn't take advantage of...We are all doing much better, but still dealing with the leftover coughs and snot...Not to mention that this weekend is rainy/snowy outside and a perfect weekend for being inside, sick. Oh well!

A New Year!

Does time fly or what?! I thought I would be a lot better at posting on this blogsite, but I have failed misserably. Is it my new year's resolution to write on this more often? I doubt it. I do hope to write in it more often then 5 times a year. We will see.
So, onto more important things...FAMILY!

Joseph has been to the far ends of the world and back since I last wrote. (Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Hong Kong).
Isaiah is into EVERYTHING that he really shouldn't be in. He is crawling and pulling himself up...Showing off his two front teeth for Christmas was one of his favorite things to do, besides learning to "unwrap" Christmas presents.

It was great to have my parent's in Medford for a bit. They had a super fun time getting to know Isaiah, again. I am sure when they see him, again, he will be running for hugs. My dad and Isaiah are planning a wagon ride for sometime in the spring.

As for me...Well, I keep on learning the ropes of being a mom and a wife. It will be interesting to see what this new year has...

I hope that everyone had a peaceful and warm Christmas and, of course, a HAPPY New Year.
